Bringing in the New Year!
We welcome 2026. As this year comes to a close, I am reminded of all the good and also challenging times here on our ranch. If I’m being honest, This year has been tough. This year has been trying and rewarding all rolled into one. Many of you know our operation has started from the ground up only a short six years ago. Three of which the cows have been a part of. Growing pains come and go, but all of our animals make lasting effects on us here on the ranch. Each animal has its own unique personality and desires.
Watching our children learn and become attached to our herd has been one of the biggest blessings here! They are learning the ins and outs of being a good cattlemen. Our goal is to let them experience helping, in a safe capacity. We want to foster each of our children’s interests and allow them to learn how to handle the cattle safely. We want them to know they don’t need to be scared of them. We are a team and they are all a valued member of our ranch.
In the new year we will continue to strive to improve our operation, be present and trust in what the Lord is doing in our lives here on the ranch. We will continue to leave a legacy for our children to join in on and eventually take over, if they so choose. The sheep are due in late February and the cattle are due in the beginning of May! We look forward to growing and welcoming new loves to the ranch.
We were able to step away from the ranch to visit my parents and siblings in MN over Christmas. We enjoyed much needed family time away and time to relax and regroup. Homeschooling starts back up again this coming week. I have been excited to start some fun learning games with the kids to ease back into our new year! The cold weather has hit also and so has our first blizzard before Thanksgiving! Needless to say the kids are enjoying snowshoeing, sledding and rolling in the snow!
I hope this post finds you warm and snug in this cold snowy season! We trust in God’s timing as we continue to lean on him for guidance and direction throughout the new year.
-Blessings
