Reflecting..

Their bond is tight! We call her jealous puppy, she is anywhere her Daddy is! I know she loves me, but sometimes I catch myself second guessing it! Lord, please don’t ever let this change! Don’t ever let her lose her love of life, cows and her daddy! The other day she cried because she realized she couldn’t marry her daddy or her brothers! My sassy, spice pot!

She is a true cowgirl, who loves braids, old John Wayne movies, her animals, dirt and her daddy! I have a feeling I know her father/daughter dance at her wedding one day! “C’mon Cowgirl” by Cody Johnson. If you haven’t heard of this one, please take a listen! It brings me to tears every time!

Our middle has a birthday coming soon! He is becoming more independent and brave! He loves to be active! He lives in the sand box in the summer! He loves to tinker and enjoys splashing in mud puddles. He loves farming and has many toy farming machines. Our oldest I always joke could run the ranch! He is super involved and loves to help in any way he can. He has been helping with the skid steer, hauling corn, checking cows and any odds and ends project around here! He loves lists, and we think that is great!

Homeschooling isn’t easy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way! We truly believe in very minimal screen time, no phones for the kids, hands on exploring and letting them learn through experiences, creative play and inventing. Our mission on this ranch is to leave a legacy for our children to continue to grow. We keep Jesus at the center of our home and listen to worship music often! I am eternally grateful for this life I get to live! The husband I prayed for through tear soaked pillow cases way back when, and the children I so longed for. Lord, help me to remember this always!

The other day I came downstairs to a note from my dear husband I wanted to leave you with: “You can never be a failure as long as you keep trying.” It really stuck with me.
